Here is an excerpt of today’s episode to get you started:
For those seeking an enchanting retirement destination away from the well-trodden paths, Querétaro beckons with its blend of rich history, vibrant culture, and modern amenities.
Nestled in Mexico’s Colonial Highlands, this captivating city offers a delightful alternative to the more famous expat havens like San Miguel de Allende and Guanajuato.
Let’s explore why you should give Querétaro a glance to retire in style.
Mexico as a Retirement Destination
As you know already, as explained in Episode 2 about the Retirement Renegade Philosophy, one tenet is international retirement.
For late savers for retirement, a US-based life in the golden years will just be prohibitively expensive.
Plus, if you feel that dash for adventure and zest for life without the headaches of surviving in the US, distant shores could be right for you.
The US and Mexico share a neighborly affinity and much of the history between the two countries is intertwined.
Added advantages are a relatively low cost of living (as long as the US dollar stays king of the world currencies), the infrastructure is good, the healthcare is excellent (and affordable), and the food is scrumptious.
Despite the sometimes gory headlines, because no place on earth is a perfect paradise, Mexico attracts more and more US and Canadian visitors every year.
And, who says you have to live all the time in Mexico?
You might opt for a semi-retirement so you can still be close to family.
Speaking of that, there are planes leaving almost every hour between Mexico and the States with direct connections to the larger cities.
Querétaro, Mexico, caught my eye, because of a report on the International Living website on a list of places to retire at $1500 a month.
Let’s take a tour of this attractive town just a 3-hour drive to Mexico City.
